What is the difference between living in an old house compared to living in an ordinary building?

New buildings usually have a management company servicing the property, but in old houses you depend on the landlord and your own time and ability if repairs are called for.
Some old houses may have problems with the electricity, pipes and plumbing. Although there are many well renovated and charming old houses we do not recommend that persons who have not already lived in China for some time move in to old houses.
